Regular well child visits to your pediatric care provider are the best way to make sure your child is healthy and meeting their developmental milestones. Our care team is trained to provide current, thoughtful practices for the wellness care of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. During well child visits your doctor will evaluate your child’s development, address any concerns you might have, and provide advice for the continued health and growth of your child. 

When your child is sick, prompt medical attention is essential — which is why we offer same-day sick visits to get them the care they need as quickly as possible. If you have questions about your child's symptoms or need to schedule a visit, simply give us a call and our team will talk through your child's needs and find the earliest appointment available to get them on the road to feeling better.

Telehealth, or a "virtual visit," allows you to consult with one of our physicians via video conferencing — offering a convenient option for your child to receive care from their regular pediatrician, without leaving home. While not appropriate for all conditions, virtual visits are well-suited for many common acute concerns, including rashes, pinkeye without fever in children over two years old, colds, some fevers, allergies, mild croup, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, and minor traumas such as lacerations, abrasions, and bites.

Dr. Amma Darko is a highly accomplished Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 12 years of experience and an impressive academic background that includes a BSN from Southern Connecticut State University, an MSN with a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty from Yale University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University — all earned with high honors. Her expertise spans pediatric outpatient, inpatient, and community health settings, and she is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the American Nurses Association, NAPNAP, and the National Black Nurses Association. A recognized leader in her field, Dr. Darko has received the FCHC Excellence in Outcomes Professional Leadership Award and was selected to represent the State of Connecticut in discussions with the White House COVID-19 Task Force and CDC in 2021.
